Wild Hair Ranch is a small ranch, by Montana standards anyway, located in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana. We are about 4 hours from Spokane, Washington and 5 hours from Billings, Montana. We are Just 30 minutes off of I-90 near Missoula. We welcome visitors, just give us a call!













We moved here 10 years ago from Western Washington. We wanted to be able to enjoy the outdoors more. It is here we found and fell in love with the inquisitive, lovable and versatile Norwegian Fjord Horses.































Our family consists of my husband and I, our 4 children, two grandchildren and an assortment of fjords, dogs, a llama, miniature pony















and a miniature donkey.































My daughter is married and has two beautiful kids, one granddaughter and one grandson. They will be seen frequently on the Adorable Pictures page. Our oldest son is got married this spring. Both live near by. Our other two boys still live at home and help on the ranch.































My daughter is my right hand, doing most of the showing, and some of the training of our Fjords. My husband loves the baby fjords and they have a fondness for him too. We have to keep him from spoiling them.































We do a lot with our horses. We believe the more things they are exposed too, the better mental and physical condition they will be in. Our breeding operation is small, we will keep it that way, as it allows more time















for each horse.































We have limited bookings for outside mares each year. This way we can still participate in Fjord Shows as well as local shows too.































This web-site is a first for us, so it will change and develop as we learn, kind of like our Fjord Breeding Program.































Our gray stallion OFI Skogen is our newest addition. What a beautiful and sweet young boy we have. He will be breeding for the first time in 2009. We sadly lost his full brother Knutsen Fjord's Soren to EPM in 2008. It was a terrible loss for everyone. Skogen has the same sweet disposition that Soren had and has already been evaluated as young stock and got a Blue! He will be evaluated when he is older as well.
